Death is the most beautiful adventure in life.Charles Frohman

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Leo Gillis who was born in United States on June 13, 1995 and passed away on January 11, 2023. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Life is eternal and love is immortal; And death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.

: My son

Leo Jacob Gillis was such a loving, compassionate, & caring person. He cared so deeply for everybody in his family. He constantly looked after his little sister and his little brother. Leo was a very humble kid never wanted anything more than we could afford , he was happy with whatever we could give him. any friends that he had. He love them deeply. He always had such a big smile. He enjoyed being with family. He always looked forward to family event. Leo loves his daughter Addalyn more than anything in this world. She was the sunshine of his life. He would’ve done anything for her. He would’ve given her the world if he could. Addy always remember how much your dad loves you. You are his boo-boo. Leo was definitely the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. If he loved you he loved you there was no in between. Unfortunately Leo had a substance abuse problem He struggled with addiction and depression. Addiction is a real thing a powerful thing. It takes the lives of precious people every day. Couple addiction with depression, and it becomes very dangerous. As a father-dad this is where in a way I failed my son. I always heard Tough-love, he needs to hit rock bottom. That couldn’t have been more wrong! What he needed was love not tough love. And rock bottom he was beyond that he needed someone to lift him up, to encourage him. So yeah, as a father, I feel I failed him. so let my pain be in awakening to everybody here. If you see somebody who’s in Leo‘s position try to help them show them compassion try to strengthen them encourage them lift them up don’t give up never give up.
And if there’s someone here under my voice that’s struggling, please seek help, find someone to talk to. If you have no one find a program somewhere to help you. Your life is worth it!
I would recommend going to a church that would be your best bet. Let the power of Jesus help you.
